A Clear Conscience
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God is in Control
16 The plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
Stay out of God’s Way
8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Life Does Hurt
8 You have taken account of my wanderings;
Put my tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in Your book?
With God All Things are Possible
11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
We Resent it if it is US Who Needs to Change
3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Respect and Kindness
29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
Talk to God Like One Talks to a Friend
7 Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, a good distance from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting which was outside the camp. 8 And it came about, whenever Moses went out to the tent, that all the people would arise and stand, each at the entrance of his tent, and gaze after Moses until he entered the tent.9 Whenever Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent; and the Lord would speak with Moses. 10 When all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would arise and worship, each at the entrance of his tent. 11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.
Only God Can Solve Everybody’s Problems
Bear One Another’s Burdens
6 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.
God Does Not See Things the Way We See Things
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Putting God Back in Focus
24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Patience is a Real Virtue
32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Take Ownership of Your Feelings
15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
Give Your Burden to God
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Made in God’s Image
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
We Need Not Fear to do What God Calls
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
A Spirit of Gentleness
Bear One Another’s Burdens
6 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.
If Our Spiritual Heart is Healthy, What Comes Out of Our Mouth Will Be Healthy Too!
34 You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.
God Notices
3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Get the Important Stuff Done
Whatever Your Hand Finds to Do
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
