Why we serve?

God’s Word Lived Out in Relationships

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve,
and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

Our desire is to serve the Lord while serving each other.

The phrase that sums up what we are all about is “God’s Word lived out in relationships“. This was adopted by the board as our official vision statement.

First and foremost, we ground everything in prayer.  The church was born out of the prayers of the brothers and sisters in Acts 1:14.  They prayed, and God did great things.  The priorities the first church had are still ours!  Bible teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer (Acts 2:42).

We do everything we can to get out and get involved in the community, to develop relationships with people.  Our goal is for the people of our community to know we care, and that we will always show up when there is a need.  We want to take the Gospel outside our doors, and our hope is, like the first church, “the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47).

In addition, we would like to become a church home for those who don’t have one.  As the Lord is the author of the family, we seek to meet the needs of families and especially children.
