Missions

Matthew 28:19

Missions is being obedient to Christ’s call to share the Gospel with the lost world whether at home or abroad. The purpose is to lead the unsaved to Christ and establish them in local churches or plant churches where they can be discipled.

Missionary

A missionary is a believer in Jesus, who has been called by God, sent by the church, obeying Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

A missionary is one who has crossed geographical and/or cultural boundaries to preach the Gospel where Jesus Christ is largely, if not entirely, unknown. How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written “ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” Romans 10:14-15

Outreach

We believe that outreach, unlike missions, is a direct function of the local church, with a focus that is essentially local and tends to be evangelistic in nature. We do not believe that missions and evangelism are synonymous. The primary purpose of outreach is the exposure of the church in the local community and the developing of converts.
